MC5 - Black to Comm
Think this predates the 5's legendary 'Kick out the Jams' debut album. They seem to be making determined efforts to ape the Yardbirds in both their appearance and playing, but doesn't quite work out, as they appear more like a rudderless teenage garage band, who are just learning how to play their instruments.
Come on man! I love the MC5 but the musicianship on this particular piece (or lack of) is fairly atrocious, in any man's language, although Fred Smith and Wayne Kramer both went on to be respected guitar players.
Kramer was even in the frame to replace Mick Taylor in the Stones at one point.
They were anything but "rudderless" The 5 were very young and just about to kick the music world's ass!
